Dundee's Baulkham Hills team Sits 2.2 games back of the league leading North Ryde Team and 1 game out of 2nd Place Just behind The Five Dock Falcons Gang
In Last weekends Play................... Baulkham Hills took the field minus 2 of our younger players, one on Army duty, the other due to illness. Nth Ryde as the visitors scored 9 runs in the top of the 1st, driving the ball to right centre field with regularity. Pitcher Bob Wardle fed a steady diet of curve balls to keep Nth Ryde off balance, stemming the flow of runs over the next few innings. Baulko suffered a huge setback in the 4th inning, with the bases loaded and no outs, Ken Sharpe hit a line drive at the third baseman, who dropped the ball (unintentionally) and then turned a triple play. by Nth Ryde and their closest result of the season.

The Oakland A's win 17 - 8 over the Sacramento A's. Here is a Game Recap....................
It was a warm morning and no wind whatsoever for the 1st 3 innings. It was the battle of the green and gold for the 1st time of 2009. What team is going hit well, what team is going to pitch good enough for the win and which team will show up to play good defense to win. Sacramento vs Oakland. Eddie & Hoop vs Lu & Macias. Former A’s Teammates vs Former A’s Teammates. The Bragging rights are up for Grabs for at least 6 weeks anyway till the Next A’s vs A’s Game. The Stage is set. Read on to see what transpired that May 17th Morning at Riordan………….
Oakland took the field as Home team. Dave Vigil was the Starting pitcher for Oakland. Sacramento’s Batting line up was gearing up for the 1st pitch. Into the Box steps Steve Dennis who wasted no time in his batting statement nailing a 1st at bat base hit, Eddie Contreras Came up next and singled moving Dennis over, Scott Wagner patiently took some pitches from Vigil to draw a walk and load up the bases. Vigil Wiped the nervous sweat from his forehead and took the sign from the Catcher as Kevin Zimmerman prepared the batters box and smacked yet another base hit scoring Dennis. Don Luis Followed with another base hit scoring Contreras. The next 3 Sacramento batters went down 1, 2, 3 as the side was retired after 4 hits and 2 runs. Scott Wagner was elected the Starting pitcher for Sacramento, bringing with him, his many years of Pool Experience. The Sacramento team sent Ed Glover to the plate to start off the 2nd. Glover went 3-3 last game at the plate and wasted no time keeping that bat attack going by ripping a double here to start of the 2nd. Unfortunately for the Sac team Ed Glover was the lone run in the 2nd from a Rbi ground out by Russ Greenfield. That was all the Sac team could do in their 2nd. For the Oakland A’s in the bottom of the 2nd. “Yo Adrian” Franco crushed a Double to the left center wall, Marty “Bad Marty” Brown drew a walk. Here come the Judge, Dave Gamson to the plate who singles driving in “Yo Adrian” Culbert Lu singles as well, driving in Bad Marty Brown as Gamson scored on a throwing error. Craig “Alexander the great” is up next and punches his 1st hit of the game with a Rbi scoring C-Lu, Vigil grounds into a fielders choice eliminating Alexander at 2nd. Mike Byron flys out. Mike Mello singles which moves Vigil to 2nd . Tony Hensley at the plate, hit a grounder to shortstop and because of a throwing error to 2nd, caused Mello and Vigil to score as Hensley ended up on 3rd. Pat Macias grounded out to end the inning after the Oaks scored 6 unanswered runs. Score after 2 full Sac 3 Oak 9. Into the 3rd for the Sacramento A’s. Due up was Steve "Dennis The Menace" Dennis, Eddie "Munster" Contreras & Scott "Tissue" Wagner the Big Three in the Sacramento line up. Culbert Lu doubles clearing the bases adding 3 more Rbi’s to his resume for the day. Craig Alexander singled in the 3rd here but was left stranded as Dave “The Rally Killer” Vigil grounded out to end the inning. Game score after 3 full Sac A’s 3 – Oak A’s 12. Into the 4th for the Sacramento A’s, Kevin Zimmerman lead off the Sac team with a walk. Don Luis Drove Zimmerman up on the bases with his 2nd hit of the game. Byron leads off grounding out, Mello Yellow adds another base hit to get on base, Hensley gets on board via a Sac error moving Mello Yellow up. Macias singles loading the bases up once again for Oakland. Jeff “Davey” Jones grounds out into a fielders choice scoring Mello. For the Oaks in the 6ththe bats went completely dead as Gary “Hoop” Hopper threw a flawless inning for Sacramento, shutting the Oakland team down. Into the 7th. The Sacramento A’s didn’t do much here in the 7th going through 4 batters and not getting anything in return for the efforts. "The Day TimeVigil" singles to move up the runners even more and Mike Byron skies a sac fly Rbi scoring “Here Comes The Judge” Gamson. Mello Flew out to end the Game on time. Final Score The Oakland A’s 17 and the Sacramento A’s 8.
I’d like to thank the pool players for helping us out today Scott Wagner, Tony Hensley and Culbert Lu. Great game to all of you. Great Pitching by Dave Vigil and Mike Byron of the Oakland A’s team as well as fine pitching from Scott Wagner and Great pitching by Kevin Zimmerman and Gary Hopper who shut down the As’s hitting attack today with their crafty veteran experience. There are 2 more head to head games to be played. I suggest no bragging until that 3rd game is completed so no Crow is dished up. Both A’s teams are way better than the records show at this point. Good luck the rest of the season A’s Teams. Go out and get those wins you are all capable of getting. THE COMMISSIONERS QUOTE OF THE DAY PARAGRAPH. To have fun and win you must show up. This Game is indeed a lot more fun when all the Teammate draftee’s show up and the Teams drafted can play as designed by the Coaches and more wins will sprout up I'm sure of it.
See you all next game
